Courageous Conversations: A Workshop on Interracial Dialogue and Promoting Racial Equity in Schools

In this event sponsored by the Stanford NAACP, Glenn Singleton will speak about his experience building anti-racist school systems and the challenges he has faced in addressing the achievement gap across the country over the past two decades. Additionally, he will be speaking on how to have productive interracial conversations about racial issues. 

Glenn Singleton, a graduate of the Stanford Graduate School of Education, founded the Pacific Educational Group, an education consulting firm whose purpose is to transform educational systems into racially conscious and socially just environments that nurture the spirit and infinite potential of all learners, especially black children and their families. The group helps educators focus on developing effective strategies for closing the achievement gap in their schools. 

Singleton is the co-author of Courageous Conversations about Race: A Field Guide to Achieving Equity in Schools, which earned a National Staff Development Council "Book of the Year" award and "One Million Dollar Author" recognition from Corwin Press. He is known nationally for his "Beyond Diversity" seminar, which aims to help administrators, teachers, students and parents identify, define, and examine the intersection of race and schooling.
